Beware of sinful inclinations
This lesson is from 2 Kings 5:15-27, regarding Gehazi the servant of Elisha. Although Gehazi served God before Elisha, the text suggests that he had a sinful hidden inclination to love possessions. He might have appeared holy, yet there was an unchecked disposition towards sin hovering in his heart. If service before Elisha did not move Gehazi to deal with this ungodly motive, it suggests that an unchecked inclination does not vanish away but merely rests dormant, waiting for the right opportunity.
The lesson is clear! We must deal with every stain of sin before it pollutes us. So deal with every passion towards sin before it is too late and pollution is inevitable.
